The Augustinians honoured by the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec
On June 4, Sister Lise Tanguay accepted the gold medal awarded by the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec to the Augustinian community. This great distinction was given in thanks for the services this congregation has bestowed upon Quebec society over the centuries. The Ursulines and the fathers of the Séminaire de Québec also received the same honour at the Quebec National Assembly.
The Lieutenant Governor awards the gold medal in recognition of the exceptional contributions of a person or organization. There is no call for candidates, and this category is at the Lieutenant Governor’s discretion. Advised by his counsellors, the Lieutenant Governor selects recipients according to his values and the causes he supports.
During this ceremony, the silver and bronze medals were also awarded to 75 recipients.
